Any more than 1.5" lift in the front requires a diff drop kit in order to keep the CV angles close to stock (otherwise you will break CVs like no other). Aug 17, 2014· 2nd gen has got the 22re, 3rd gen has got the 3rz. so both are fine. both can be had in 4cyl ^ so that takes care of the V6 problem. both can be had in 5speeds so that takes care of the lifeless auto problem. I personally like the body styling of the 2nd gen much more, Plus the real TAILGATE is a BIG advantage to the 2nd.
